The BSN program and the Accelerated BSN program (ABSN) provide students the knowledge, skills, and abilities to function effectively in all areas of nursing practice through quality instruction and clinical experiences.

These programs provide students the opportunity to apply didactic knowledge in a variety of hands-on and simulated clinical settings, and lay the groundwork for continuing one's professional education at the graduate level. The BSN program is taught on the Augusta and Athens campuses. The ABSN program is available exclusively on the Athens campus. Qualified applicants will graduate a semester early.

Augusta University College of Nursing BSN programs are approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing and accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.

Graduates of the BSN and ABSN programs are eligible to sit for the NCLEX -RN to obtain the professional state license, Registered Nurse (RN). The BSN 1st Time Pass Rate for 2024 is 97%. Graduates of the College of Nursing may take the exam for a Registered Nurse license in the 50 U.S. states, District of Columbia, and four U.S. territories: American Samoa, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands and the Virgin Islands.

Athens Campus

BSN and ABSN students have the option to attend our Athens campus, just a short drive away from The University of Georgia. Many pre-nursing students at UGA select Augusta University's Athens Campus, as it allows them to continue to engage in their Greek Life and the pre-nursing society. Our BSN students on the Athens campus get the best of both worlds. While they take classes at Augusta University in our state-of-the art facilities from our outstanding faculty, they also enjoy a variety of perks through our partnership with UGA.
